WEEK 2 VIDEO

WEEK 1 GENERAL CRITIQUE

  • Be blatantly clear what your business is so your dream clients know without a shadow of a doubt who you are and what you do.

  • Start with the main action in the first second of the Reel. Don’t wait and build it up. Your audience has already scrolled on by.

  • Always put text on top of your Reels and have it be there the entire time.

  • Text on top should always be horizontal and not tilted.

  • Text on top should always have a background behind it so we can read it clearly.

  • No strong CTA’s like website urls, buy now, call now, salesy Reels. Insta is all about getting to know you first. Not booking your from 1 Reel. Slow your roll and build the relationship.

  • Use more extreme emotion so the viewer totally understands the before and after reveal.

  • Simple is usually always better, clearer, and more understandable.

  • Don’t abbreviate things. We don’t know your industry lingo.

  • Don’t screenshare stuff that’s too much to read. Instad do a green screen of you talking about it.

  • No black lines at top and bottom of your Reels.

Check out the Growth Points on the score board at the bottom of this page.

WEEK 2 HOMEWORK

✅ Watch as many Week 2 videos as you like
✅ Create Reels this week that are focused on the topic of Week 2: Intermediate Reels Skills. Use my video tips and tricks to create Reels in the Effects, Point at Text, Lip Sync, and Original Spoken Word Reels Styles.
✅ Each Reel you create for this 30 Day Challenge MUST be aligned to your creative freelance business in order to be considered for Growth Points
💥 This week’s curveballs: Yes there are 2 curveballs this week.

  • Curveball #1: Lip sync for your life! Growth points will be given to the Challengers who watch the Lip Sync video, implement the knowledge, and create excellent lip sync Reels that are aligned to their business.

  • Curveball #2: Speak on camera in the Original Spoken Word Reel Style. Growth points will be given to Challengers who watch the long yet informative Original Spoken Word Reels video, implement the massive amount of knowledge, and create excellent Original Spoken Word Reels that are aligned to their business.

  • I’m NOT looking for the typical spammy Reels like “If you ever need a (your job title) then book me now!”.

  • I’m looking for Reels that show the different aspects of your creative business.

  • Refer to the long list of Reels ideas for inspiration.

  • The Reels styles that will be considered for Growth points will be Lip Sync and Original Spoken Word Reel.

  • The Reels styles that will not be considered for Growth points are Effects and Point at Text. Still feel free to create those Reel Styles as filler between your Lip Syncs and Original Spoken Word Reels this week.

  • The more Lip Syncs and the more Original Spoken Word Reels you create the week the more practice you’ll get in for those styles and the more chances you’ll have at being considered for a Growth point.

  • Hint: Be strategic. Figure out if you want to try only one or both curveballs this week after watching those videos. I’d rather you create 1 excellent curveball Reel and be strongly considered for a Growth point than create 2 or more mediocre curveball Reels that don’t even make the cut for a Growth point.

  • Deadline: create 1 Reel / day about your business using the Effects, Point at Text, Lip Sync, and Original Spoken Word Reels Styles. Reels that follow the curveball directions that are posted between Day 8 of this Challenge (this Monday) until Day 14 of this Challenge (this Sunday at 11:59pm your time) will be considered for Growth points.

  • Critique of the Week 2 curveballs and Growth point scoring will be announced during the Week 3 Q&A Session.
